What is staple "Saddle Stitch" binding?
Staple binding, or saddle-stitching, uses staples along the spine to hold the folded pages together.
When should I use Saddle Stitch binding?
Saddle Stitch is ideal for shorter books like comics, zines, and brochures. A maximum page count of 52 is available for this binding type.
What is "Perfect Bound" binding?
Perfecting Bound binding uses glue to secure the pages together. In this book binding process, printed pages are grouped together in a book block. The book block is then glued to a cover with a spine.
When should I use Perfect Bound binding?
Perfect Bound is ideal for longer graphic novels, books with a large, finished size, and books that need a printable spine. A minimum page count of 30 and a maximum page count of 350 is is required for this binding type.
How do I add a cover?
All Comix Wellspring books include a cover that increases your total page count by four. The cover includes a front cover, an inside front cover, a back cover, and an inside back cover. We also offer a cross section of cover upgrades and/or embellishments which can be located under the "Your Cover" section of your order.
How do I calculate spine width for art?
Perfect Bound Manga feature a printable spine, which requires calculation for art size. You can use our SPINE CALCULATOR to accurately determine spine art sizes.
How do I print in traditional right to left Manga format?
Manga is traditionally printed in a right edge binding style that results in a right to left reading pattern. To select this option, click YES for "Reverse Print?" under "Finalize Set Up" while ordering. This is available for both our Saddle Stitch and Perfect Bound binding options.
What is the difference between UV Gloss and Laminate?
UV Gloss is a liquid coating cured by UV light, while Laminate is a thin plastic film applied to the cover for extra durability.
How do I add foil to my covers?
Select the 'Foil' option under 'Embellishments' in the order form.
What are Variant Covers?
Variant covers are alternate cover artwork printed for the same interior content.
How do I order variants?
Any variants such as covers, special editions, and/or anything that changes a book must be ordered as separate items.
